CSI Hosts 2026 Counselor Education Graduation Celebration for School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling Programs

The Tau Chapter CSI at Lehman College proudly hosted the 2026 Counselor Education Graduation Celebration, honoring graduates from both the School Counseling (SC) and Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) programs. Building on the success of prior celebrations, where graduates, faculty, and families gathered for speeches, recognition, and community connection, this year’s event continued that meaningful tradition.

A highlight of the celebration was the opportunity for graduates and faculty to share brief reflections, recognizing the journeys, challenges, and growth that defined their time in the program. Short faculty remarks were shared, graduates’ speeches celebrated their professional development, and the celebration concluded with a small reception for connection, reflection and cake! These moments created a beautiful transition into the counseling profession.

During our celebration this year, we recognized the amazing impact of our colleague Dr. Dov Kugelmass, his memory was honored by his family sharing origami cranes with each of the school counseling graduates (Dr. Kugelmass’ students).

A huge thank you to our CSI leaders who helped prepare for the event in leading up to the celebration as well as on the day of, we could not have done this without you!

This celebration was an acknowledgment of academic achievement, and a recognition of the future impact our graduates will have in the field. We were thrilled to celebrate this milestone with our community, honoring the graduates’ dedication, resilience, and commitment to the counseling profession.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

The Counselor Education Program continues to prepare graduates who:

  • Serve diverse communities with compassion and skill
  • Promote equity, access, and wellness in schools and clinical settings
  • Uphold the highest standards of the counseling profession
